How Framptons Strengthened Its Position in Plant-Based Drinks
This time last year, Framptons took to the stage at IFE 2024, showcasing our Wessex Oat range and championing British farming. It was a pivotal moment – our commitment to sustainability, innovation, and local sourcing was clear, and since then, we’ve continued to push boundaries in the plant-based drinks market.
As food and drink companies across the globe gear up for IFE 2025, we’re reflecting on the incredible journey we’ve had over the past 12 months.
Award-Winning Innovation
We were honoured to take home three Gold Awards at the 2024 Plant-Based Excellence Awards, with wins for:
- Framptons Professional Oat Barista
- Wessex Oat Latte
- Wessex Caramel Oat Latte
This recognition cemented our reputation as a leader in plant-based beverages, proving that sustainability and great taste can go hand in hand.
Scaling Up Production & Sustainability
We’ve also invested heavily in our processing and packaging capabilities, making Framptons the go-to partner for own-label and co-packed plant-based drinks. Our facilities now support:
- Tetra Brik Aseptic Edge® & SIG Dome packaging options
- Greater production capacity for oat, soya, and coconut drinks
- Sustainable sourcing initiatives to reduce food miles
By prioritising British-grown oats and working with trusted global suppliers, we continue to minimise environmental impact while delivering top-tier quality.
A Major Financial Turnaround
We also announced a significant milestone – Framptons returned to profitability just 18 months after a pivotal £5 million investment from Swedish firm Profura. This transformation was driven by:
- A renewed focus on plant-based drinks
- Divesting non-core categories, including our egg business
- Operational efficiencies and strategic partnerships
This streamlined approach has positioned Framptons as a major force in UK oat drinks, with ambitious growth targets on the horizon.
Expanding Framptons Professional
One of our biggest developments this year has been the growth of the Framptons Professional range. After launching our Oat Barista drink in 2023, we followed up with Soya Barista and Coconut Barista, providing the UK foodservice sector with high-quality, sustainable alternatives that meet the demand for plant-based options.
Sourced from trusted suppliers in Italy and Indonesia, these drinks offer performance, flavour, and consistency, ensuring coffee shops, restaurants, and foodservice providers can serve up the best plant-based drinks with confidence.
Whilst we’ve enjoyed a pivotal12 months, we’re not slowing down! Whether you’re exploring own-label plant-based drinks, foodservice solutions, or co-packing partnerships, we’d love to talk.
