Expert Contract Packers
With over 40 years experience in manufacturing egg products and over a decade of expertise in processing and packing, Framptons is a renowned provider of a bespoke and quality service for brand owners. We are experts in liquid food, beverage processing and egg blends for the manufacturing, bakery and foodservice industry and ready-cooked omelettes and scrambled egg for the catering, leisure, hospitality and foodservice sectors.
We offer a range of pack formats from cartons to bag-in-box to bottles.
In support of our manufacturing we have an on-site CLAS accredited laboratory offering full physical and microbiological testing and total shelf life proving.
Linked to this is our New Product Development service, where we work with potential, new and existing customers on recipe modifications and new concepts.
Our facilities are approved by many food manufacturing and foodservice companies and we hold the highest EFSIS/BRC accreditation – AA+.
Raw Materials and Packaging
We can handle liquid raw materials in anything from drums to road tankers. Chilled and frozen storage is available and ambient ingredients can be received into our warehouse for up to 4 weeks before manufacture.
We can blend prior to heat treatment and our Premix facility contains six enclosed chilled mixing tanks, each with two-speed mixers. Powdered ingredients can be added either via a sieve directly into the tanks or via an in-line high sheer blender. Heat treatment is by either plate or tubular pasteuriser. We also have a defrost process plant.
Coding and labelling is controlled via our main recipe database, as is outer case and pallet labelling. We use barcode software (including 2D) with links with our preferred hauliers to enable us to transmit trailer loading details electronically.
Our Egg Business
In 1898 George Frampton founded an Egg production & packing facility in Street, Somerset Norman Frampton, the son of the founder acquired the current factory in Shepton Mallet in the 1960’s
We are the largest gable top extended shelf life liquid egg manufacturer in the UK. Our liquid egg blends include whole egg, egg whites, egg yolks and scrambled egg mix. We can also create bespoke mixes for quiches and bakery products.
We also manufacture Scrambled Egg products & Sushi Egg for major Fast Food & Hotel Groups throughout the UK. Framptons is the largest supplier of ready cooked omelettes in the UK. Our delicious ready-cooked frozen omelettes are available in a variety of sizes and flavours.
We offer free range options for our liquid blends and cooked egg products.
We have a well established recycling scheme that sees very little waste sent to landfill, and we recycle one hundred per cent of waste produced on site.
In the past few years we have reduced our carbon footprint by almost 60 per cent and we employ an Environment & Sustainability Manager who is responsible for the day to day environmental aspects of the site. As well as recycling our waste, we have installed metering systems and are building a water treatment plant.
